Latest Guergis Householder Inappropriate
Helena Guergis used her latest MP flier as little more than a
personal poll. Sure, there were a few token platitudes about the
meaning of Remembrance Day, but the main purpose seemed to be finding
out if she has enough support to run as an independent in the next
election. Not an appropriate use of taxpayers’ money. Too bad she
didn’t take up the cause of the veterans’ group which is trying to get a
fairer deal for Canadian soldiers injured in Afghanistan. Now that
she’s no longer in the Conservative caucus, she has the chance to
criticize the government’s failure to support the troops when they come
home as casualties. That would be much better content than a
self-serving pre-election poll.
