Coalition Government is the Most Democratic
The proposed coalition government is a responsible and constitutionally valid alternative to the lack of leadership shown by the Harper Conservatives.
And it’s not another $300-million election!
Isn’t it a good thing that three different political parties are willing to compromise in order to make the government work? The coalition has a prudent and responsible plan to meet the challenges Canadians face:
the war on terrorism including Afghanistan, climate change, free trade, nuclear weapons, saving jobs, investing in infrastructure and a green economy, restoring EI, protecting pensions and respecting our cultural sector and of course, the economy and our livelihoods.
Most of us expected the government to address the serious economic issues that face this country. Instead, the Conservatives used the opportunity to attack federal public sector workers while providing none of the measures we need to get our economy back on track.
A coalition government would be a reasonable alternative and one that would be the most democratic. After all, 62% of voters chose representation from one of the coalition parties. These parties have signed an agreement to work together for at least 18 months, thus providing the stability that has long been absent from Parliament.
If Mr. Harper truly cares for the welfare of the country he will put aside his partisan politics and work with the coalition to achieve something good for
